Christina reached out to me for an intimate portrait shoot saying she knew she wanted to book me eventually (LOVE this), and now with some big changes and wins in her life felt like the right time. Booking an intimate portrait session for herself to celebrate herself and new chapters in my life is similar reasoning to most of my recent clients—celebrating wins, embracing their bodies, and doing something empowering just for themselves. These are all themes that are behind why I started shooting intimate portrait sessions.

Christina and I shot her intimate session entirely at home—a space that is super important to her. When discussing the vibe of the shoot one thing that really stood out for Christina was play with light and shadow, so we leaned into that with the beautiful evening light in her home in Oakland. We shot all over her home (we kept some less clothed images in her bedroom private just for her), and a few in her backyard. These shoots are always so fun and inspiring for me—shooting just one person is in ways both more challenging and more creative, as you don’t have another person to take some of the focus. These are still my favorite type of session, I just love getting to collaborate with people to make them feel confident and hot and look like art.
